Tiger and Bronson

7
Bronson and Tiger- GRR
Darin’s dog came to stay with us for a few hours on Sunday. Tiger is fearful of Bronson and went into hiding when Bronson first got here but Emma found him in the wood room. Later after the girls and Darin, Saima and Grandpa left for the basketball tournament in Brainerd, Tiger was under one of a dining room chair and Bronson came close. Tiger puffs his fur up and growl and spits at Bronson. Bronson back off. Now Bronson is about 3 times larger then Tiger so that took a lot for that little kitten to do.
Later I was taking Bronson and Tiger out for walk on the back lake and Tiger scooted out the door too. Everything went fine till on the way back Bronson was in the lead and Tiger was by a big Oak tree he went right up the trunk like it was easy if it was flat instead wood. He went right up to the third big branch and set there for a few minutes and then went higher when Bronson stood at the foot of the tree backing and climbing on the tree trunk.
Tiger stayed up that tree for about 2 hours. He tried a few time to get down but couldn’t figure it out. I left him alone for a half hour and went back out on the deck and looked he and managed to come down on branch . I went back out a half hour or so later and he was down and branch. Another half hour and he was on the first branch. It still was far off the ground. I went out on the back patio and talked to him and encouraged to keep trying. He started down and keep trying till he was at last on the trunk and slowly working his way to the ground. He got down and ran right to me. I took him right in house and put him in laundry room where Bronson couldn’t get him. Then put Bronson on the deck and let Tiger out.

Tiger Is up a tree AGAIN!!

Wednesday I was getting ready to go to Brainerd to do food shopping. I put both Toffee and Tiger outside. I called Toffee in and didn’t see Tiger. I called and called but no Tiger. I thought oh well he will come back. I put Toffee in the wood room and finish getting ready. I went to patio door and called Tiger again and that when I saw him up in the tree. It was the tree next to the one he was in before but much high up in it. He looked at me like he was saying, “Now what do I do?” Well guess what Bruce was at work, I didn’t trust myself to get on the ladder and not fall off and I think he was up to high to make that possible anyway. I went over to the tree and called him and told him to come back down the tree. His answer was to turn around and face me with his butt!! I told him” Listen Little Boy I am trying to help”. He didn’t move!
I went into the house and grabbed by camera and took some picture of him in the tree. I kept talking to him while I took pictures. He did turn around and look at me but didn’t move. The dogs next door barking and the foxes screening didn’t help Tiger to come down. I took my camera back and decided well I will try once more then he will have stay up there while I am gone. It was about +13 with a little wind, clear sky and sun was out, so he would be alright.
I went back out by the tree and talked to him and encouraged him to come back down the tree. He tried a few times but got his body carved around a branch sticky out from the trunk and went back up. But he kept trying to get down. It took in about four tries then was able to get his whole body going the right way around the branch. He dug in his claws and hung on. About that time I wish I hadn’t just clipped his fount paws the night before. Slowly he was making progress down the tree. He moved on a straight part and I thought he was going to fall but at the last moment his claws dig in enough. A few feet later he was able to jump the rest of the way down. He came right to me and started purring. I took him into the house and gave him a treat and told him behave while I am gone and tease Toffee to much. He looked up at me like says, “Oh ya like she doesn’t deserve it.”

Tiger is lonely!
We went to Glyndon this weekend. We left Tiger alone in the house. He has always been okay with this or maybe I just thought so. When we got home on Sunday about 2:00pm, Tiger was ready to go outside for an awhile. When I let him back in it was like letting in a cat on pure sugar. He was all over the place and if you were unfortunate enough to pass within his paw reach you got scratched. I tired holding him a cuddling with him he was having none of it. So I kind of left him alone and went into my sewing room to watch the Olympics, or to other people a nap.
When I got up I went into the kitchen and Tiger was on the table using my hair plant as a paw support to reach the string for the ceiling fan. From the looks of the plant he had did that a lot this weekend. The entire little fairy figurines collection was out of the plant and the plant looked really droopy. I was scared he would end up pushing the whole thing on the floor so I moved it to the stand by the door and put a basket of crocheted flowers in the middle table. I went about making supper. Tiger went about destroying the basket of flowers, the table runner all ended up on the floor. He had a ball taking the flowers and batting them one at a time all over the living room, entryway and even all the way to our bedroom. This took him all the time while I made supper and ate. When I stood at the sink doing dishes I notice his handy work. He stood in the middle of the empty table and tried to reach the fan coed. Unfortunately for Tiger Bruce was upstairs and fixed him. He put the string way up and there was no way for Tiger to get it. I thought we were done with Tiger for the evening, he had other ideas. He followed me to my sewing room and jumped up on my chair and started chewing on my hand, scratching me and trying to drink out of my water. I would chase him out of the room and he would go right out in living room and knocked over dishes from counter, attacked Toffee as she slept on the rug and even going downstairs and jumping up and scratching Bruce. Bruce chased him upstairs and I put him outside to cool off and settle down or was that for me to settle down?
Continued-
Tiger had a few more tricks up for me that night. When I went to my sewing room to watch TV Tiger was in there too. He jumped up on the quilting table and knocked down my rotary cutter and tried to bat it around. Lucky for him the blade was back in the case or he would have got a cut on his paw. This was the last straw and I put Tiger outside and didn’t plan on letting g him back in for awhile. I sat down in chair and next thing I knew Tiger was on top of me, purring like crazy and taking a nap with me. He is so cute a cuddly when he is asleep. Kind of like a two year old child. Tiger slept in our room that night and there was no problems. I think he just wanted to be close to us.

Tiger and the Woodpicker

5
Tiger and the Woodpecker

Yesterday I was out on the back deck and as I went in Tiger ran out. I got busy as we all do and forgot him out their. I was doing something close to the big windows in the living and hear a growl. I looked out there was Tiger on the rail of the deck and in the tree that almost hangs over, a big Red headed Woodpecker. This bird came often to the bird feeder on our deck. Tiger is growling at the Woodpecker all puffed up and reaching out with is front claws. I am not sure with of the three of us were more stated Tiger, the Woodpecker or me! I was scared that Tiger would take a header off the deck, or the woodpecker would realize he could peck that little rascal cat on the head or just pick him up with those sharp big claws. The Woodpecker turned and flew off and I think Tiger wanted to fly off after him but he is after all a kitten not a bird even if he is confused, gravity laws are not. My camera was in my sewing closet and I didn’t get a picture again. I do have a picture of the woodpecker from last year.

Tiger Time

4
Yesterday I was sewing the last pillow for my bed. I must have really been concentrating because all of a sudden my material wouldn’t keep moving though my needle I look and there was Tiger. He had is paw on my material and it was bunching up. I told him to get down and that’s when he notices my thread on top of sewing machine. He stood up and batted it and it flew off the machine. He jumps down and thinks this is going to great fun #!##! I got him and my thread and set him out in the hall and went back to sewing. In about a minute flat he was back, this time at my feet. He thought playing with my feet was good sport. I used the water spray on him and he left for a while but as soon as I set down in my lazy boy chair he was back and right on top of the hand sewing I was trying to finish. I put him down about three times and he kept getting back up. I happen to look at the clock and it was 2:15 pm. It dawned on me that Tiger thought it was nap time or for lap time. About this same time everyday I have notice that I lose all my energy and take some down time. Tiger must think this is HIS time. Well he is ly a kitten and needs his rest.

More tales

Spoon Game
I have been using small colorful baby spoons when I fed Tiger to get all the food out of the can. I put it on the wash tub in laundry room. He likes to attack the spoon and hide it from me. I find them in all different places in the house. I found a blue one under the treadle sewing machine in entry way and the red one in the bottom of a box of stuffing for pillows. This morning I was putting wood in the stove and there was a spoon behind the stove in the corner. The strangest place I have found one was on top of the fireplace in a cup I got from Glacier National Park. I didn’t know he could get up there. When I find the spoons they all have little teeth marks on them.

3 Tiger and Gray Squirrel
Today I let Tiger out the door downstairs and he torn off over the snow piles like he was on a mission. He went right over to one of the birch trees and climbed part way up the tree. I looked up and there was a fat Gray squirrel going fast up to the top and over to the next tree. Tiger did get back down but went only a few feet from the tree like he was waiting for squirrel to come back down and have a few rounds with him. I not sure he knows that the squirrel would win. When he came back in I gave him his treat in the cat bed in front of the big window upstairs. He was contently eating the treat when his head came up and he growls and is all puffed up and tries to get on the deck though the window. There on the back deck was the same fat squirrel perched between the deck rail and the bird feeder. The squirrel turns his head and sees the cat and forgets the bird feeder and jumps from the deck and to the birch tree and almost looks like he is flying from tree to tree. Tiger set there for a while like he wanted to fly over the tree limbs with the squirrel or maybe just take the squirrel limb from limb.

Tiger Tales

One

Tiger Gets Lost
Saturday I put Tiger out along with Toffee. Bruce was going for a woods run with Toffee, on the Honda, how Toffee gets excise. When came back he let Toffee in and put away the Honda. We were getting ready to go shopping and to the movie “Blind Side”. Bruce asked if I had let Tiger in? No I haven’t seen him I said. Bruce looked around and called Tiger for about 5- 10 minutes while I finished getting ready, but no Tiger anywhere. I went out back and called Tiger and even walked over by the wood pile and to front of the house, no Tiger. Now I was worried. He is usually right around the house and comes running when I call with door open, but no Tiger.
Fearing the worse I went down to get the mail and look on the road to see if he had been hit by a car. No Tiger.
Bruce mean while decides Tiger must have followed Toffee out into the woods with Honda so he get the Honda back out and make a run in the woods. No Tiger. And now it is getting late and we need to get going to Brainerd if we are going to get the shopping done before we go to the show. I close up the house and put my stuff in the car. Bruce is still looking for Tiger but now on the side of the hill by garage.
We decide it is okay to leave him out side since it is warm and he can hide in the wood pile. The Bruce says I can hear him by not see him. We both looked all over the hill and Bruce still can hear him.
Bruce looks up and in a tall tree we tie Annie to when she is hear there is Tiger at the top meowing and can’t or is to fearful to get down. Bruce goes to get the green expandable ladder and puts it up to the tree thinking Tiger will get the hint come down it. No way Tiger looks at us and turns around with his butt to us and stays there.
Now I figure this will take an awhile. Bruce straighten the ladder and climbs up it to Tiger. I am fearful he will fall and break something but I have learned in our 42 years of marriage to be still. He is going to do what he is going do.
Bruce sets up to Tiger and Tiger resists coming out of the tree Bruce cradles him in the crook of his arm and down the ladder they go. Bruce stumbles with the resisting kitten and misses a step and almost falls but makes it down ok. He sits Tiger on the ground and Tiger is all puffed up and back arched and starts to run like he is going back up the tree but heads for the patio deck. I called him and get him in the house though the garage.
I am so glad they are both ok and Tiger is in. I would have worried about him outside for 4-5 hours it takes us in Brained.
Bruce thinks he was scared of the four wheeler and thinks when get home I should take him for a ride on it. That’s not happening any time soon.
More tales of Tiger later
